Blog Upgrade to WordPress 2.3

I’ve just upgraded the blog software to the latest version of WordPress (2.3). There’s some amazing new features and I’ve already bumped into 2.

  • Tagging has been introduced so they are now part of the platform
  • Plugins notify you if there’s a new version

It’s amazing to watch this platform being developed and new releases coming out thick and fast. This was a pretty big one with lots of changes. Here’s the full list.

  1. On a scale of 1-10, how difficult was it to upgrade? Now, what is the difficulty level for a fairly newbie? :-D

  3. It was a doddle, it really was .. though I think it might have broken my Comment Email Responder plugin …

  4. Oh no! I hope it didn’t break that plug in! I love that plug in!

  5. I finally quit looking at CMS’s. Wordpress just offers too much, and the community is huge. I really can’t think of a compelling reason why you would want phpNuke, Mambo or Drupal over Wordpress, unless they would be better suited to sites that have a lot of contributors, but even then, WP is no slouch.
