A long time ago, one of the components that made up The Only Network was Only Coolsites, which was intended as a link directory of cool websites which people could submit links to. How naive of me! It started off with all sorts of links, from link directories to baby sites, from Pepsi Cola to Mizuno Golf, anything under the sun.
Recently I’ve been running out of disk space and discovered that the CoolSites database (an Access database) had grown to 70Mb!!! It was full of all sorts of wierd spam (and not-so wierd ones also), but it opened my eyes to the fact that it was being targeted by all the spam bots on the Internet. It’s practically unusable now. So I was thinking of decommissioning the service. Will anyone miss it?
