Linking WP Auctions to PayPal

We’ve launched our beta test of WP Auctions today, making it available to around 30 beta testers who will be testing it out in the wild. We’ve packaged a version up for people to play with and it will be nice to get some feedback.

The final phase of the auction that WP Auctions hosts consists of asking the auction winner for payment. We decided to go down the PayPal route for this as it presents an easy mechanism that more web users are familiar with. Once the money has been collected, users can transfer the money to their checking accounts and do whatever they want with them. The user will have PayPal charges to pay for their transaction, but the actual auction has no fees levied on it, as the user is running it on their own blog.
