I got an interesting pointer the other day from a promotional video on a site called StomperNet. Anyway, as part of their promotional activity they gave access to an internal tool they have called Site Seer. The thing that grabbed my attention was a part that told you what themes Google thought your site is about. Now, Andy Beard points out that this feature may not be accurate, but I believe it can still give a good indication of how a particular page may be perceived by a spider.
How does this work. Well, it uses Google Adword’s Keyword Tool to scan your page and come up with suggested keywords, and this may come back with interesting results. It can tell you if Adwords thinks your page is about hydroplanes, indoor lighting or MBA courses, and can provide some valuable insight into what may be going wrong with your search engine positioning.
