I’ve just noticed that I’ve just surpassed the 50,000 mark on Akismet. That’s quite a bit of unsolicited comments and this blog has been particularly busy on that front in the last couple of months. And it varies, from messages offering credit card 0% APR 15 months all the way to data center automation. Akismet protects me from all that.
There are really two types of spam comments on this blog. Some are just plain garbage, using foreign characters or streams of question marks. Those I don’t care for. Some others may be interesting so I sometimes do check them out if they’re about something that interests me. It’s weird what you can find interesting sometimes.
