When you meet someone you’re going to entrust with your website, their appearance is immediately going to give you some sort of impression. And that’s why you must always look after your grooming when meeting a new client. Well, any client for that matter, but the first time you meet someone is going to be more important. The last thing you want to do is turn up smelling of cheap cigars and booze.
Just pay attention to appearanecs, you know they matter!

Interesting comment. I partically agree (especially on the booze front… that’s not a good indicator of reliability). I’m usually more interested in exisiting portfolio, and with speaking with exisiting clients to extablish the pedigree of any web designers that we commission.

I find this to be true for job interviews as well. Dress for success as they say.
